Abstract
Film build, opacity and leveling while having a good color acceptance are major concerns when formulating paints. Specific solutions are needed for significant improvement on film build without impacting leveling or other film properties. As major producer of polyurethane thickeners, Arkema Rheology & Specialty Additives keeps on innovating & developing new solutions for the paints & coatings markets, Coapur™ XS 12 is a pure Newtonian HEUR thickener with a unique contribution to high shear viscosities. It allows the adjustment of the cone & plate viscosity with very limited impact on mid-shear and low shear viscosities thus confering excellent film build and leveling without compromise.
